As with any new sports or club, there are a lot of questions to be asked. Here are some of the more popular questions that we get. We hope that this helps.

Q: I have never played touch rugby before. Can I join your club?
Q:タッチラグビー未経験者ですが、チームに参加出来ますか？
Certainly. Many of our players are first timers. Touch rugby is an easy game to pick up, so after a few sessions, you should have a decent understanding of the game – just ask many of our players.
もちろん参加出来ます。現在のメンバーのほとんどが未経験者でした。タッチラグビーはルールも簡単で、プレーも非常に簡単です。もし分からない事があれば、メンバーにいつでも質問して下さい。
Q: I’m a girl and a beginner. Is there room for me in your club?
Q:女性で未経験者ですが参加出来ますか？
Of course there is. About half our club is females and we have many beginners both male and female. Touch rugby is social, so even though its a sport, its also designed to have fun as well!
もちろん参加出来ます。チームメンバーの約半分が女性で、男女関係なく未経験者が沢山います。プレーだけではなく、タッチラグビーを通じて新たな友人が出来たり、楽しい事が沢山ありますよ！
Q: If its raining, will touch rugby be on?
Q:雨天の場合、練習はありますか？
Due to the concern of player safety if it is wet under foot, we will take the cautious approach and cancel the touch rugby as we don’t want injured players.
雨天の場合は中止します。基本的に芝生が濡れていれば中止です。（怪我防止の為） 雨が降りそうなどややこしい天気の場合はこのHPをチェックして下さい。
Q: Rugby has a rough and tumble image, so I am worried if I join your club, I will get injured. Do you think so?
Q:ラグビーは危険なイメージがあるので心配しています。タッチラグビーも同じでしょうか？
Touch rugby is very different to that of rugby union and rugby league. It is a non- contact social sport, so the chance of getting injured is very rare. Just ask some of our players!
タッチラグビーは通常のラグビーとは全く違い、激しいぶつかりあいやタックルは禁止されています。大きな怪我はほとんどありません。一度見学して見て下さい。もしくはメンバーにお尋ね下さい。
Q: I have played touch rugby for a number of years and I want to play seriously. Can I play seriously at this club?

Interesting question. Fun with Touch is a social club, so its more based on having a good time while playing touch rugby. However, we do enter social tournaments and there is a competitive team that you could trial for, but it separate from this club. Please click here for more information.
ＦＷＴは基本的には楽しくプレーをするチームです。ただし、エキサイトチーム（経験者向け）とエンジョイチーム（初心者向け）に分かれていますので、エキサイトチームに参加されたい場合は上記のClick hereより登録をお願いいたします。
Q: I understand that this club is not just about playing touch rugby, but having a good time. What else do you do?
Q:ＦＷＴのタッチラグビー以外の活動を教えて下さい。
Well, we do like to have fun… we have FWT parties about four times a year at our sponsor bar, usually on a Thursday evening (check our calendar for up and coming events).
Also, we have entered into inter club events where we have played touch rugby and then enjoyed a drink or two (BBQs if we are lucky!!).
We have also been known to have a drink after touch rugby or go to a sports bar to watch an event.
We also help promote club members events and attend them accordingly.
年に何回かスポンサーのバーにてパーティーを行っています。（不定期ですが木曜日に開催される事が多いです。）詳しくはＨＰ上のイベントカレンダーをご覧下さい。
他のタッチラグビーチームと一緒に飲み会やゲーム後のパーティー、ＢＢＱなどもあります。スポーツバーにて海外ラグビーの試合を皆で観戦したりもします。

Q: Does this club have a season, or do you run the whole year through?

The official touch rugby season runs from April though to the end of November. We also take the month of August off as it can get quite hot in the summer and start up again on the first weekend of September.
If there are touch rugby events on outside of the scheduled season, provided that there is enough interest in them from our club members, we will participate.
タッチラグビーの基本的なシーズンは４月から１１月末までです。８月と１２月～３月までは休みます。基本的なシーズン以外でもゲームがあれば参加します。
Q: How many players on the touch rugby field at any one time?
Q:ゲーム中は何人の選手が必要ですか？
There are 6 players on each team on the field at any one time. Therefore 12 players in total.

Q: What about substitutions?

At FWT, we try to get everyone playing all at once. If needed we will break up into teams where two teams are playing and others are taking a break to watch the games and talk with their team mates.
In a tournament situation, along with the six players on the field, you can have up to eight subs standing on the sidelines. Therefore you can have a team of 14 in total.
Oh, and while we are on this topic – the golden rule is to never, never, never substitute on defense!
ＦＷＴには控え選手はいません。当日参加出来る選手は必ず試合に出る事が出来ます。トーナメントの場合は６選手＋最大８控え選手です。基本的に試合に必要な人数は最低６人～最大１４人です。
タッチラグビーではディフェンス時はメンバー交代は行いません。アタック時のみメンバー交代を行います。
Q: How does a game start?
Q:ゲームはどうやって始めますか？
The attacking team will have the ball in the middle of the field. The defenders will be standing on the 10m line. After the referee signals play by blowing his whistle, an attacking player will tap the ball and then either pass to a nearby player or challenge the defensive line by him or herself.
最初にアタックするチームはフィールドの真ん中にボールを置き、ディフェンス側はフィールド中心より１０m下がります。レフリーの合図でアタック側はボールをタップし、ボールをパスするかボールを持ったまま走ります。
Q: I understand that when a defending player touches and attacking player, its called a “touch”. Once a touch has been initiated, the attacking player will then roll the ball between their legs for another player on their team to pick up and pass. A defender will then touch another player and they will then roll the ball between their legs. My question is, how many touches does the attacking team get.
Q:ディフェンド側はアタック側をタッチした場合、「タッチ」と言います。１度タッチされたアタック側は地面にボールを置き、後ろにいる味方メンバーにボールをパスします。再度ディフェンス側にタッチされた場合、これを繰り返します。これを何回繰り返しますか？
The attacking team will have 6 touches. Unless of course they drop the ball or bend the rules i.e. forward pass.
６回です。６回攻撃が終了したらアタック側とディフェンス側が交代します。ただし、アタック側にミスが見られた場合、６回の前に交代する場合もあります。
Q: What happens after the 6th touch?

If by the sixth touch the attacking team has not scored, then the attacking team will hand the ball over to the defending team (who will then become the attackers)
６回のアタックが終了したらアタック側とディフェンス側が交代します。
Q: After a touch has been made, how far back does the defending team have to retreat?
Q:ディフェンス側はタッチをした後、何m下がりますか？
Generally speaking, the defending team has to retreat 5m. However, from my experience from playing in Japan, its more like 7m. If ever unsure, please ask the referee or listen to what the referee is instructing.
基本的にはタッチの後は５m下がります。（ただし日本では７m程下がっているように感じます。）何mか確認したい場合はレフリーに聞く事が出来ます。
Q: Do I have to touch a player with two hands when defending, or is one enough?
Q:タッチをする場合、両手ですか？片手ですか？
A player can be touched with either one or two hands. However, one hand will suffice.
どちらでも大丈夫ですが、片手の方が動きやすいと思います。
Q: When a team is attacking, sometimes there are things that they can do that will result in the other team getting the ball before their six touches have finished. What are some of the more common infringements?
Q:アタック中、反則行為により６回の前にレフリーの判断で、アタック側とディフェンス側が交代する場合があります。どういう反則が多いですか？
Forward pass: when the ball is passed in front of the player who possessed the ball
Ball to ground: when the ball is dropped on the ground it is then turned over to the opposite team
フォワードパス：ラグビーは基本的に自分より後ろにパスをしなければいけません。フォワードパスは自分よりも前にパスを出す行 為です。
ボールトゥグラウンド：ボールを地面に落下させた場合
Q: When can a player be penalized?
Q:ペナルティー（反則行為）について？
A player can be penalized for many infringements ranging from dangerous or unfair play, offside play (usually by not retreating 5m on defense after the touch has been made) and basic rule infringements. A list of possible infringements are as follows:
危険行為、オフサイド、基本的なルールが守られていない場合。
Offside: The defending players have not retreated 5 meters after the touch has been made
オフサイド：ディフェンス側がタッチの後５m下がらなかった場合
Touch and Pass: The attacking player has been touched, but then proceeds to pass the ball (instead of playing the ball)
タッチアンドパス：アタック側がタッチされた後にパスをした場合
Point Over: The attacking player has been touched takes a step or two forward from that point and then proceeds to play the ball
ポイントオーバー：アタック側はディフェンスにタッチされた場所で、ロールボールをしなければいけないのに違う場所でロールボールをした場合
Voluntary Touch: An attacking player has not been touched, but plays the ball
ボランティアリータッチ：タッチされていないのにロールボールを行った場合
Dummy Half touch: The dummy half is touched while in possession of the ball. (Dummy half is the first player to recieve the ball from a roll ball. The role of a dummy half is to pass it to another player on the team seeing as they cannot be awarded a try or take a touch).
ダミーハーフタッチ：ダミーハーフにタッチをした場合※ダミーハーフとはロールボールの時にボールを受け取った人
Not square: If an attacking player has not played the ball between their legs facing their try line i.e. side on, they will be penalized
ノットスクエア：トライラインの正面でロールボールを行わなかった場合
