Serious about Touch?
The Toyko Warriors is the competitive team of Fun with Touch. If you feel that you have a desire to test yourself against the best touch rugby teams in the Kanto region, then this team is for you. The Tokyo Touch Rugby team is also associated with the Japan Rugby League team and Japan OZ Tag.
The team was founded in 2007 when we were invited to play in the Japan Cup. Although the 12 players had never played competitive touch before, the performance was very commendable only narrowly missing out on the quarterfinals through points differential. This performance raised a few eyebrows within the Japan touch rugby circles and so the Warriors were then invited to play in the Kanto Touch Super League in 2008!
The foundation year was very positive. The Warriors were up against teams that had been together for between 3-5 years. While teams were focusing on teamwork, combinations and strategies that have been developed over the years, the Warriors were relying on their natural rugby abilities and understanding of the game. Overall, the first year in the competition was successful – upsetting a few teams along the journey. The Warriors were also marked as the team to make the climb up the ladder in 2009!
The Warriors are a diverse group of players mainly coming from traditional rugby nations. We combine styles from Europe, the Southern Hemisphere as well as Japan. We are noted for our passing game as well as our intensity on the field.

We have a good mix of players, most of which like to enjoy a drink or two either after training or after touch rugby tournaments!

Hard earned thirst needs a big cold beer...and the best cold beer is (Kirin Ichiban/Asahi Super Dry)
